Product review: TFS timing chain
Timing chains are often overlooked in building an engine, yeah sure we all get a double roller chain but is that enough. Recently Trick Flow Specialty introduced their billet timing chain for our beloved FE. First and foremost it is 🇺🇸MADE IN THE USA🇺🇸 and that means a lot , but the price is very reasonable. We purchased this one through Cleveland Performance Center in Cleveland Tennessee 423-479-3232 and for the month of June 2020 they were on sale for $79.99 I try to buy local when I can so one was ordered. When I received it the first thing to note was the quality it's what you expect from TFS excellent craftsmanship. The crank sprocket has the advance/retard marks are on the crank slots as well as the corresponding teeth making lining them up with the cam index that much easier. A feature you see on this that you usually only see on much higher priced sets is it's been back machined for a bronze bushing between timing sprocket and the cam retaining plate. This reduces friction and adds life to the sprocket as it allows the bronze bushing to take the wear . Overall I would give it a five star rating at time of installation.
