In the days of the samurai when  his sword was built it spent  months being forged the metal  folded over and over until it is uncommonly strong and then honed to a razors edge. Enter Bruce Faulkner a retired Army veteran who understands the dedication and discipline it take to create perfection.  In 1987 he bought this long bed step side 1967 F-150, powered by a 352  and anvil strong 3 speed Toploader . While reliable and fun it began to be folded upon itself and with each fold it became stronger and developed a racers edge. Two things strike you when you look at this truck it's long and its all business.  With the last engine  he made a 10.09 @ 130mph pass  that was sporting 428 block kicked out to 466 cid. Before we delve into the heart of the new engine lets take a look at the sled its in. One thing to note is this is not some tube chassis pro-mod its got Henry's frame , twin I-beam front suspension , and leaf spring 9 inch rear leveraged with Cal-Trac bars. Big Mickeys measuring 31-13-15 are tied to  4.86 gears being spun by a Liberty Clutchless 5 speed. A liberal use of fiberglass in the way of hood, fenders, and bumpers help trim the truck affectionately known as the "Pig" down to 3400#. Now to the to the final fold in this weapon, the mighty FE forged in the fire of the golden age  its nothing less than a mighty 427 .  In this age of aftermarket blocks Bruce bucks the trend with a '64 Top oiler block with three sleeves bringing it back to a serviceable state.  Filled partially with Hardblock filler , and tied together with billet main caps and a full girdle it ensures it survives what gets stuffed in it. Suspended  in the bottom is a RPM 4.375 forged crank pushing 14-1 Diamond pistons hung on Molnar 6.635 rods . Above that is a set of Kuntz ported Edelbrock heads with titanium intakes and stainless exhaust valves. The cam was vaguely stated as a .770 lift solid roller cam  with custom lifters with .150   offset push rod seats to help clear the giant Kuntz ports.  Up top Bruce deviated from normal Jesel style rocker used  at this power level by using factory mounting points on the rockers assembly . Dove stands shafts and spacers with .075 offset Harland & Sharpe rockers.  The crown on top is a 1980's built tunnel ram of unknown origin wearing twin 1000 cfm 4150 Holleys. To add the final hone to the blade a nitrous system controlled by a Jacobs nitrous controler are added to the mix. Naturally aspirated HP on the dyno is a private  matter but we are assured it is an honest 850hp engine before the spray. Dropped in the chassis and  ready to go into battle and carry the mantle of the legendary FE to the masses.
